Getting Married Today!

YEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I get to officially become Dan's wife. I am beyond excited.

Sorry there have been no posts this last week. I have been incredibly busy, extremely stressed and unusually emotional. I do have a few half written posts waiting to be finished and ideas for even more.

Anyway, we are honeymooning for a couple weeks and then we are moving to Texas. I hope to get some blogging in between now and then, but you know... I might be a little busy. ;-)

For now enjoy this photo of Dan and I at the gun range where we first started becoming friends.

Dark Kiss Bubble Bath

So excited!!! ManDan officially booked us a hotel room for our wedding night with a whirlpool tub. Plus, he got a super amazing deal on the room... less than $150. I am so proud of him.

The tub is like right in the room... how neat is that!?

Earlier this week we shopped together for some bubble bath. We went to The Body Shop, Sephora and Bath and Body Works. We sniffed a lot of different scents and almost killed our noses. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult to find a scent we both agreed on. ManDan actually found it (I am so glad we shopped together!).

I was over on one side of B&BW looking at "The Cuddlers" and explaining to the salesgirl what we like while he was on the other side apparently looking at "The Sexys". He told me he found one he liked called Dark Kiss. I was pleasantly surprised when I smelled it. It has the fruitiness that he likes and the deep warmth that I like. It might as well have been made for us.

And it is purple! My favorite color.

"A tempting blend of black raspberry, mirabelle plum, amber, dark vanilla bean, and sensual balsam."

We got the bubble bath, body butter and shower cream (I have never used a shower cream before... I guess it is supposed to be more moisturizing). On our way to the register practically every salesgirl in the store told us it was their favorite scent. I have been sniffing it at least once a day since we got it. Can't wait to put it to good use!

6 days!

And then he told me...

"You are going to be my wife. I will take care of you."

and my heart melted and I knew again this is without a doubt the man for me.

9 Days!

Caribbean Frost

Earlier this month I painted my toenails a really beautiful iridescent green and I have been enjoying it so much! Green is such a gorgeous color, but with my skin leaning towards olive I just can't wear green without looking like a martian or something! Having it on my toes has been so delightful!

Seriously the most gorgeous green! Sorry again that I didn't get a better photo.
Anyway, if you are interested the polish is Caribbean Frost by Wet N Wild.

A few days ago I said to ManDan, "I am loving this much I think I will paint my toenails green for the wedding." Of course I wouldn't really, but he almost believed me. It was great.

Then I suggested that I paint them blue for my "something blue". He had never heard that saying before so I explained it to him. As it stands now he probably thinks I will paint my toenails blue, but I am won't. I have something else entirely in mind and even got the perfect polish (it is surprise! but I will tell you this much... it is by Essie. oh my word... I would never normally spend nearly $8 on bottle of polish... weddings make you money stupid)

Then last night one of my nails ripped something awful and now I don't know if I will paint my nails or what. It is really only a minor thing in the whole scheme of life, but I do find myself somewhat disappointed. I was actually telling myself, "He isn't marrying your toes, he is marrying you."

Yes, I have great feet and I am truly a bit vain about it, but I am really glad ManDan loves me for me! And I am sure I will have plenty of other days to paint my nails whatever color I want.

Bangles and Flats

With out honeymoon coming up I realized I will need a suitcase to pack all my clothes in! As much as I would like to I can not afford to go out and buy a brand new suitcase.  So I hit up some thrift stores and garage sales! I still haven't got a suitcase, but I did get some really cute stuff.

Leather Flats $2

They need a bit of polish, but other than that they are practically brand new!

Set of Bangles $1.50

I really like the variation in all the different sizes and designs.

I am in love with bangles right now and these will be perfect for my renaissance faire costume (I finally decided last year that I want to be a gypsy).

I also bought ManDan a little sake set for $1.25, but I gave it to him before I could get a photo... still getting the hang of blogging.

Tortellini Soup

When I visited my one of my very best girl-friends last month she made some amazing tortellini soup. Even  sense I have been wanted to make some. Especially since I love tortellini (or almost any pasta) and ManDan has never even had it!

A rainy day came along, the perfect kind of rainy day for soup and I took the opportunity to make the soup and take it to ManDan for dinner at work (something I would totally do more if he worked closer! and I really hope I get to do more once we are married). I had intended to be a good blogger and take pictures of the whole process, but I was in too much of a hurry to not miss ManDan's lunch break that this is the only photo I got.

All the food packed up and ready to go. Even got strawberry shortcake for dessert!

ManDan and I really enjoyed the soup, but I didn't make it as good as my friend had. I will just have to try it again! When I made it I left out the wine because I didn't have any, but I think that might be what really makes go from good to great. Next time I will definitely add the wine!

Sweet Italian Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package al fresco® All Natural Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 3 (14 ounce) cans low fat, low sodium chicken broth
  • 18 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh red tomatoes, chopped
  • 6 ounces baby spinach leaves
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Heat Dutch oven with 1/2 tsp of oil to coat and saute chicken sausage until browned and internal heat is 165 degrees. Remove from pan and slice into small pieces and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, finely mince the garlic cloves.
  3. Heat remaining oil in pan, add garlic and saute for 30 seconds, stir in wine and broth and bring to a boil. Cook for about 2 minutes then add tortellini. Cook for another 5 minutes and then stir in spinach and tomato. Cook until the spinach wilts, 2 minutes.
  4. Return sauteed sausage pieces to the soup, cook for an additional 5 minutes add the butter and serve when butter is melted.

Love is...

Holding hands in the car.

It warms my heart when I see old couples holding hands. I want to be one someday.
